Immortality

Writer's picture: kcaruana24kcaruana24

As requested by a friend, this piece was inspired by the colors and feathers of a peacock. I felt like the use of the Dutch pour technique was the best to create fluidity.

I titled this piece Immortality because symbolically, peacocks are often used in different spiritual practices, as the representation of rebirth, growth, and rejuvenation. My nonna had peacock feathers in her home before she passed way. As a child, I remember touching them and observing them with real curiosity. I always wondered why she had them in the house but I never thought to ask her. She was very close to her faith, perhaps, it had some relation to it? I know that for me, peacock feathers always remind me of her. So, when I was asked to do something inspired by peacock feathers and its colors, I was all too happy to oblige.
